New eSourcing Case Study for Macmillan Publishers
March 26, 2015
Our latest Case Study showcases how Macmillan, one of the world’s largest publishing houses, is using Trade Interchange’s eSourcing software to make its procurement more efficient and effective.
Macmillan began working with Trade Interchange in 2012 to manage its supplier information through Trade Interchange’s SIM module, which is part of the ARCUS® Supplier Management Platform. More recently Macmillan has added Trade Interchange’s eRFX and eAuction modules to its growing Supplier Management Suite to provide a smarter approach to its procurement strategy.
In the past, Macmillan had very limited visibility over its tendering and there was little consistency in the processes being used across the business. Past experiences meant there was also a certain scepticism towards eRFX and eAuctions, especially for purchasing relatively sophisticated services.
The key was to gain a high level of support within the organisation. At Macmillan, the initiative was backed by the Global Head of Production Operations, and run by Charlie Thelu, Head of Strategic Sourcing.
For Macmillan the results are already being appreciated:
• eRFX rolled out for a wide range of goods and services
• International offices using the module
• Clever reporting and analysis tools have resulted in significant procurement savings
• Monitoring progress of supplier tender submissions in real time
