ARCUS® eAUC provides A-Katsastus with greater control and visibility over its office supply spend, helping to deliver a 30% saving.


The Challenge:

A-Katsastus embarked on an exercise to reduce its indirect cost associated with office supply spend.

It was looking not only at bottom line savings but also at increased visibility of supplier agreements and streamlining its supplier base.

A-Katsastus also wanted to establish comparative prices between branded and compatible toners.

The Solution:

A-Katsastus decided to use ARCUS® eAUC with Trade Interchange in order to produce comparative prices for core and non-core items.

Trade Interchange advised running two eAuctions – first for the core items in the contract and second to establish compatible toner costs.

Six suppliers were invited to participate in the eAuctions.

The Result:

The first eAuction delivered savings of 30.8% based on the price A-Katsastus was paying before working with Trade Interchange.

The second eAuction delivered a 54.4% saving off the quoted price that A-Katsastus was given prior to the event.

From data gathered, the procurement team put forward a case to switch from more expensive branded toners to compatible ones.
