October 4th is National Vodka Day!

Traditionally, vodka is made using potatoes or grains, which are fermented, mixed with water and distilled to produce the spirit. However, there's an ever-growing number of batches made with other ingredients, such as cereals or fruit. Additionally, flavours like candyfloss, chilli and cookie dough spirits are a far cry from vodka’s original purpose of fighting the cold in 8th Century Eastern Europe, however, our penchant for cocktails and vodka with mixers make the beverage no less popular. This increasing number of flavoured concoctions could introduce a range of potential allergens to be aware of.

While collecting product-specific information, such as potential trace ingredients and nutritional information can often be difficult, laborious and time-consuming. ARCUS® Supplier Management Software places the responsibility on to the supplier to upload all relevant information.

How can ARCUS® help you this National Vodka Day?

ARCUS® Product Information Management (PIM) allows users to track all product information and potential allergen risk.

Using ARCUS® PIM, users collect product information from suppliers about their ingredients. This includes allergen information, ingredients and nutritional details, amongst others. By automating the collection of all ingredients, companies have confidence in the allergen information provided by the supplier. Storing all information in a supplier's individual portal allows for remote access for all key stakeholders, providing evidence of due diligence throughout the supply chain.

By automating the process of collecting and checking all product information, companies can save time while easing the administrative burden. Using ARCUS® PIM, responsibility is placed on the supplier to complete and upload all required information and documents. This could include insurance policies, modern slavery statements and industry-specific certifications.

ARCUS® PIM can integrate with other 3rd party systems, such as recipe management and other downstream systems. This feature helps to ensure all ingredients and allergens are correctly labelled on menus and in bars.

ARCUS® Connect API allows information to be shared with both internal and external systems. This eliminates the need to re-key data and helps maintain the integrity of your information.
