After collecting details on the areas of well-being that were most important to us, we have designed a calendar of monthly themes to tackle these areas of importance!
This month, we hosted several activities under the theme of ‘Dry Veganuary,’ focussing on how you can incorporate plant-based meals into your diet, as well as raising awareness of the importance of limiting alcohol intake.
This began with the frequent updating of our internal intranet, which directed employees to helpful resources that could aid them in this endeavour!
With this in mind, we opened ‘The Trade Interchange Recipe Library,’ a Teams channel that functioned as the ‘go-to’ place to share anything vegan-related with the rest of the organisation. We had employees sharing their vegan parmos (as we’re a Teesside-based office), lunches, and we even had some recommendations for plant-based restaurants to visit!
On the week commencing the 16th of January, we altered our weekly Fika sessions to consist of plant-based treats, to provide members of the organisation an opportunity to try something new.
Then finally, on the 25th January, we gave our employees the opportunity to try Vegan-baking as the “Great Trade Interchange Vegan Bake-off” commenced! Participants from each department took some time to bake a delicious Vegan treat for the office to sample, and vote on a winner. Congratulations to Emily, who walked away with a brand new cookbook, as her Double Chocolate Vegan Brownies won over everyone’s tastebuds.
Next month, we will be running activities surrounding the theme of Mental Health Awareness.
